The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards Nominations Are In


The list of nominees for the 2017 edition of MTV Video Music Awards has been released.
Unveiled via Instagram Live, the list contains a few changes but little surprises. Kendrick Lamar scored eight nominations, including for Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Hip Hop and Best Cinematography. The Weeknd tied Katy Perry for second place with five nominations each.
In a move that changes the old guard in a big way, the Best Female Video and Best Male Video categories have been combined into one for the first time in VMA history. It will have its own category called Video of the Year. A Best Fight Against The System category was added as well.
The 2017 VMAs will air on August 27 at 8 p.m. EST. Check out the list of nominees below.
